ZIPAQUIRA SALT CATHEDRAL  This attractive underground . A mixture of precise engineering and history, the First Wonder of Colombia was declared on February 4, 2007.

Upon entering the mine, the mineral smell is felt and darkness takes possession of everything. Later, a set of lights reveals the carved rock and the tunnels that house stations of the cross. At the end there is access to three naves: the one for birth and baptism, the one for life and death, and the one for resurrection, each with an altar.
Each of the naves has sculptures beautifully carved by miners and sculptors, among which La Piedad stands out, whose face has strong indigenous features, in honor of the Muiscas. There is also the Guardian Angel carved in 1950 by the Italian sculptor Ludovico Consorte and the huge cross of the Narthex... Another of the great attractions is the water mirror, whose surroundings are illuminated to reflect in the static water and give a fascinating optical effect that gives the impression of swimming in an underground void.
